The tournament was highlighted by several lineup changes toward the end. First, original finalist Ai Tsukimoto had to withdraw due to injury before the championship match. Fellow semifinalist Natsuki Narumi was also injured, and was unable to substitute into the championship match as well.
A reserve match was setup between newcomer Akari Hoshimiya and former B-1 Champion and 2015 B-1 Tournament winner Kou Asumi. Hoshimiya scored the upset, and was poised to face Ren Ichinose in the finals.
Before the finals could occur, Hoshimiya was attacked and injured by Yua Nanami, who stole her spot in the final match.
But in the finals, Ichinose would prevail over Nanami to take the tournament crown.
